Ruby Valley Trek is a recently opened wonderful trek near Kathmandu. It’s called Ruby Valley Trek since the Ganesh Himal region, where you will be trekking, contains deposits of the gemstone ruby.

Ruby Valley Trek Route
Your trek begins and ends in Kathmandu. Start the journey with a scenic drive on meandering roads to Syabrubesi.
You will be ascending a hill called Bhaun Danda on your trek to Tamang village of Gatlang. Hike to the sacred Parvati Kunda, an alpine fresh lake and bask in its mesmerizing beauty.
Continue your trek through dense forest filled with rhododendron forest to Somdang. On day 3 of your trek, you will be crossing Pangsang Pass. Navigate your way through Pangsang Pass and enjoy the astounding views of Himalayas.
You can see mountains including Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Langtang, and others from the top of the mountain pass. Further, walk through jungles with rhododendron and fir trees to Tipling.
Continue your hike through a jungle and walk past charming Gurung and Tamang villages like Chalis Gaun and Darkha Gaun. Your trek ends with a drive back to Kathmandu.
Ruby Valley Trek Easy
Ruby Valley Trek is an easy to moderate trek where you will attain a maximum altitude of 3,842 meters at Pangsang Pass. You will be walking for a maximum of 7 hours and a minimum of 3 hours during the trek. On average you will be walking for around 6 hours per day.
