Langtang Valley Ganjala Pass Trek Route

Langtang Valley Ganja La Pass Trek Trek begins and ends in Kathmandu. Enjoy your scenic drive to the village of Syabrubesi, the trailhead of your trek. Trek past dense forest and across suspension bridges to Lama Hotel.

You will be trekking to Mundu via Langtang village. On the following day, you will be trekking to the village of Kyangjin Gompa. Explore the village and visit the old Buddhist Gompa after which the village is named Kyangjin Gompa.

You will spend an extra day in Kyangjin Gompa acclimatizing. Hike to Tserko Ri and bask in the panoramic view of mountains, including Langtang Linrung and Yala Peak.

Continue your trek across Langtang River and ascend through dense forest to Ganja La Phedi. On day 7 you will be crossing the challenging Ganjala Pass which is mostly covered in snow throughout the year.

The trail of Ganjala Pass Trek consists of a long climb on a rugged path. The pass lies on a rocky moraine. After an adventurous trek reach Keldang, your stop for the night.

A ridgeline walk will take you to Yak kharka and further trek to Tarke Gyang. Walk through lush forest to the village of Sermathang. Hike past villages on your way to Melamchi Pul Bazaar and take a short drive to Kathmandu.

Langtang Valley Ganjala Pass Trek Difficulty

Langtang Valley Ganja La Pass Trek is a moderate to difficult trek. The highest elevation of your trek is 5,122 meters at Ganja La Pass. Maximum you trek for 8 hours and minimum 3 hours. On average, you will be hiking for 6 hours each day. It is a challenging high-altitude trek that requires you to be reasonably fit.

Langtang Valley Ganja La Pass Trek is suitable only for experienced trekkers. Previous trekking experience may boost your confidence level.
