Everest High Passes Trek Route
Trek to Phakding and spend 2 nights at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization. Take short acclimatization hikes from Namche Bazaar.
Continue your journey to Thame, Lumde, and on the sixth day reach Gokyo via Renjo La Pass. En-route to Renjo La Pass enjoy stunning views of the mountains and Rolwaling ranges. Next, you will hike to Gokyo Ri. This day will reward you with some incredible views of the Himalayas.
Trek to Dzongla via Chola La. The climb is not easy as you will have to walk around crevasses. At the top of the pass, you will be greeted with prayer flags and some cairns. Further, you will trek to Lobuche and Gorak Shep and continue to the legendary Everest Base Camp.
On the eleventh day, you will hike to Kala Patthar. Get awed by the jaw-dropping views of Everest and other peaks. Cross Kongma La pass and descend to Namche Bazaar.
The next day, you will retrace your steps back to Lukla and stay overnight. And finally, you will catch a flight to Kathmandu.
Everest High Passes Trek Difficulty
Everest High Passes Trek is moderate to difficult trek, suitable for experienced trekkers.
On a normal day, the trek lasts for 3-4 hours. The longest day on the day trail is when you trek to Chukkung via Kongma La Pass. It will take you around 8-9 hours.
The highest elevation of the trek is 5550m at Kala Patthar. Everest high Passes Trek is a challenging trek, recommended for experienced trekkers.
