Tamangs, an ethnic group are descendants of Tibetans who migrated to Nepal centuries ago. Observe the unique culture and tradition of Tamangs which is influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. Visit an ancient Buddhist monastery Kyangjin Gompa.

You will be trekking close to Nepal Tibet border and also get to enjoy the breathtaking Langtang Range and neighboring Tibetan peaks.

Langtang Valley Trek Route

Langtang valley Trek 8 days begins and ends in Kathmandu. Drive through the winding hilly roads to Syabrubesi village. Hike past Bhote Koshi River and trek through dense forest filled with rhododendron and oak trees on your way to Lama Hotel. Continue your trek past Tamang villages to the village of Mundu via Langtang Village.

The next stop on your Langtang trek route is Kyangjin Gompa overlooking the spectacular view of Himalayas. The village is named after the ancient Buddhist monastery, Kyangjin Gompa.

Bask in the stunning views of mountains including Dorje Lakpa, Gang Chhenpo, and others.

You will be acclimatizing for a day at Kyangjin Gompa and will be hiking to the highest point of Langtang valley Trek, Tserko Ri. The vantage point of Tserko Ri offers panoramic views of Langtang, Yubra Himal, Yala Peak, and others.

Hike past Tamang villages and meadows on your way to Lama Hotel. Retrace your steps back to Syabrubesi and take a drive back to Kathmandu the following day.

Langtang Valley Trek Difficulty

Speaking of Langtang vlley Trek difficulty it is an easy to moderate trek.

You will gain a maximum altitude of 5,000 meters at Tserko Ri. Maximum trekking duration is 7 hours and a minimum is 4 hours. On average you will be walking for roughly 6 hours.

Langtang valley Trek is physically demanding high altitude trek. It is suitable for both experienced and inexperienced trekkers, but one needs to be reasonably fit. Previous hiking experience will boost your confidence level but isn’t a requirement.
