The Hidden Lake and Glacier Trek route leads through the remote trail, high ridges, and the Madi River valley to embrace rarely seen mountain vistas and landscapes. It is a 12-day adventure to Hidden Glacier of Nepal.

The hidden Khaire Lake is perched beneath Annapurna South, at 7219 meters. It is easily accessible and offers scenic walks under the shadow of lofty mountains. It is one of the newly opened treks in the Annapurna region.

The trekking trail offers diverse landscapes, glacial lakes, terraced rice fields, rugged valleys, and splendid views of Annapurna massif, Hiunchuli, Fishtail, Dhaulagiri, Lumjung and surrounding peaks.

As you step into the Annapurna zone, the towering peaks dominating the sky welcomes you- every step takes you closer to the mountains. Walkthrough rhododendron and oak forest, terraced village lowlands, and glacial basins of the Annapurna massif. The trail covers lush forests, home to exotic birds and beautiful flowers leading the way to Khopra Danda.

Khopra Danda (ridge) is one the stopping point of this trek. It is a vantage viewpoint in the Annapurna region that parades stunning views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and Annapurna South.

Hidden Lake and Glacier Trek Route

Your journey to Hidden Lake and Glacier starts with a scenic ride to Pokhara from Kathmandu. From Pokhara, you shall drive to Kimche, and hit the trail to Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a beautiful village, readily accessible from Pokhara. It flaunts dramatic views of Annapurna, Machapuchare, Gangapurna, and Hiunchuli.

You will then descend along the trail through rhododendron forest, and after 3 hours of continuous climb, you will reach Tadapani, your resting ground for the night. The next day, after enjoying delicious breakfast, you will head towards Bayeli Kharka. Initially, the trail meanders through thick rhododendron forests, and climbs gradually to reach a small pass. The trail then descends through rhododendron forest, opening up to Bayeli Kharka. From Bayeli Kharka, you can admire marvelous views of Dhaulagiri.

Khopra Ridge is your next destination. A beautiful day lies ahead of you. You will trek for 3-4 hours, steadily climbing alpine meadows and pastures. Khopra ridge is a popular viewpoint overlooking the Kali Gandaki river and bestowing panoramic view of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and Annapurna South.

On the 5th day, you will trek to Khaire Khola, following the staircase to a lake known as Pautarko Kaire. The trek is easy and shouldn’t take you more than 5 hours. Your next day is allocated as an acclimatization day. On this day, you will embark on a side-trip, and explore the area.

On your way to Celli Kharka, you will traverse well-defined trail, marked by prayer flags and stone cairns. En route, admire the view of Machhapuchhre and Annapurna South.

And on the 8th day of the trek, you will reach your final destination-Hidden Lake. The lake is enclosed by rocky spires and flaunts beautiful scenery.

You will walkthrough Annapurna circuit trail, descend a small ridge, and walk past farmlands. Furthermore, you will hike up to a small pass before reaching Annapurna South Base Camp. Your team will set up a camp at the base camp for overnight.

The next day, you will slowly descend to Chomrong, following stone steps, and crossing a suspension bridge. The trail passes through Jhinu, before reaching Chomrong. The breathtaking view of Machhapuchhre greets you.

You will follow the path to Matque and drive back to Pokhara. Enjoy the easy descent through the beautiful trail. Your trek ends with a scenic ride to Kathmandu from Pokhara.

Hidden Lake and Glacier Trek Difficulty

The trek is graded an easy to moderate. Anyone with no prior experience can embark on this adventure, but you should be cautious about plan and preparation. Our expert team will help you with this.

Autumn and Spring are the best time of the year to trek to Hidden Lake. The highest elevation you can reach is 4250m. You will trek for 3-4 hours per day, but on your way from Annapurna South Base Camp to Chhomrong, you must trek for 7-8 hours.
