Gokyo Ri and Gokyo Treks Route

Everest Gokyo Treks Itinerary begins and ends in Kathmandu. Embark on your Gokyo Ri Trek with a picturesque flight to Lukla. Walk past suspension bridges, mani walls, and prayers flags on your way to Phakding village.

You will be trekking through the forest with rhododendron trees and crossing the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge on your way to Namche Bazaar. Spend a day acclimatizing at the bustling town of Namche Bazaar.

Go on a hike to Hotel Everest View to see Everest and surrounding mountains. You can hike to Khumjung village and visit an ancient Buddhist monastery. Moreover, the Gokyo Valley trek route passes through settlements of Dole and Machhermo that overlooks the stunning views of the Himalayas.

On your way to Gokyo, you will be walking on the rugged path and trekking past pristine Gokyo Lakes. Hike up to Gokyo Ri and bask in the panoramic beauty of eight-thousanders like Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, and Makalu.

Enjoy the unparalleled view of Gokyo Lakes and the Nzogumpa glacier. Hike past charming Sherpa villages of Phortse and Tengboche. Tengboche Trek is also a part of your Gokyo Ri and Gokyo Valley Trek where you will be visiting the largest gompa in the Khumbu region.

Trek back to Namche Bazaar and Luka. The next day you will be flying back to Kathmandu.

Gokyo Ri and Gokyo Treks Difficulty

Everest Gokyo Trek is a moderate to difficult trek. You will be attaining a maximum height of 5,360 meters at Gokyo Ri.

You will be walking for a maximum of 7 hours, and minimum 3 hours. On average, 5 hours of walk daily. Novice and experienced trekkers can do Gokyo Ri and Gokyo Treks. But it is a physically demanding high altitude trek so you need to be physically fit.
