Kick off your short Everest View Trek by taking one of the most extreme mountain flights in the world to Lukla. Get acquainted with Sherpa culture and hospitality during your stay at local teahouses en-route.

At every twist and turn you will find Buddhist shrines, prayer flags, Mani stones, prayer wheels and small chortens. Cross swaying suspension bridges and walk through the Sagrmatha National Park, a treasure house of endangered Himalayan flora and fauna.

From Namche you get your first glimpse of Mount Everest. An extra day at Namche, the Sherpa capital allows you to explore and soak in more of the panoramic mountain views.

Everest View Short Trek Route

This short Everest View Trek begins with an exhilarating flight from Kathmandu to Lukla.

You begin your Everest View trek from Lukla, a bustling Sherpa settlement known as the ‘Gateway to Everest’. Walk through the busy market and head down to the Dudh Koshi River, sharing the trail with Mule trains and other trekkers.

Your cross your first metal suspension bridge as you make your way to Phakding, the first stop of your Everest View Trek itinerary. The walk to Namche is filled with inspiring sights – pine forests, pristine glacial river, suspension bridges over steep gorges and soaring snow-covered peaks.

You get your first Everest view from Tope Danda, as you are about to enter Namche, your final destination. The town of Namche, carved on the side of a mountain offers some of the best facilities you will ever get to enjoy in a high-altitude mountain trek.

Spend an extra day at this beautiful town hiking to the vantage point at Hotel Everest View at Shyangboche, one of the highest hotels in the world. Panoramic views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kusum Kanguru, Mount Everest and other peaks will leave you mesmerized.

Visit some of the oldest Sherpa settlements like Khumjung and Kunde if you have the energy. The monastery at Khumjung has, what is regarded as the scalp of the Yeti, the abominable snowman.

After soaking in the sights and sounds retrace your steps once again to Lukla. End your Everest View Trek 5 days with a thrilling flight to Kathmandu.

Everest View Short Trek Difficulty

Everest View Short Trek is graded easy to moderate. This trek is ideal for both experienced and inexperienced trekkers.

Though this short Everest view trek takes you to the highest human settlements and mountains on Earth, the route is easy and no technical climbing is involved.

The highest elevation you will reach is Everest View Hotel at 3,880 meters, where you will spend only an hour or so. As you won’t be venturing beyond this point, altitude sickness won’t be a major issue.

The first day of the Everest View Short Trek is the shortest at around 3 to 4 hours, while the acclimatization hike on the third day will have walking for around 7 to 8 hours.
