Your way from Jiri to Namche exhibits middle hills, scenic landscapes, terraced farmlands, and natural splendor of the Everest Region. Unlike the regular trail from Lukla, this trek weaves through the lower Khumbu Region.
Jiri to Everest Base Camp distance covers varying altitudes from lower hills to highest mountains in the world. Admire spectacular views of the mountains like Kwangde, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Everest. Visit the Tengboche monastery, the largest monastery in the Khumbu region.
Everest Base Camp from Jiri Route
Catch a bus from Kathmandu and drive towards Bhandara via Jiri. Cross the Sun Koshi river toward Mulkot and enjoy views of mountains, including Ganesh Himal, Lantang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, Gauri Shanker.
Trek to Sete, Jun Besi, and Nunthala before heading to Buspa. Climb Lamjura la pass, Trakshindo la pass and walk through pine, maple, birch and rhododendron forests.
The trails from Bupsa ascends to Khari La pass and descend to Puiyan. Cross Chaurikharka and reach Phakding. En-route to Namche Bazaar from Phakding, walk across the Hillary suspension bridge.
You will spend another night in Namche Bazaar to acclimatize. Continue the trail to Tengboche and Dingboche. Spend another night in Dingboche and hike to Nagarjun Hill to savor stunning views of the mountains.
Further, you’ll ascend to Gorak Shep and follow the trail to Everest Base Camp. On the 15th day, hike to Kala Patthar to savor close up views of Mount Everest and surrounding peaks.
Trek to Pheriche and descend to Namche and Lukla. From Lukla catch a flight back to Kathmandu.
