EBC Trek with Gokyo and Cho La Pass Route

EBC Trek with Gokyo and Cho La La Pass Itinerary includes EBC Trek and Cho La Pass crossing and starts and ends in Kathmandu. Begin your journey with a scenic flight to Lukla and trek to Phakding village, on the bank of Dudh Koshi River.

Walk past pine forest and cross several suspension bridges on your way to Namche Bazaar. Explore the Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar on your acclimatization day.

Relax in the restaurants, cafes, and bakeries; alternatively, go on a hike the Everest View Hotel overlooking Everest and neighboring mountains.

Walk past rhododendron and pine forest on your way to Tengboche. Also, visit the ancient Tengboche Monastery which offers the stunning view of Mount Ama Dablam.

Hike to the Sherpa village of Dingboche and spend your second acclimatization day of EBC and Gokyo Cho La Pass trek at this village. Go on a hike to the Nagarjun Hill which offers 360-degree view of the Himalayas.

Trek to Gorak Shep via Lobuche and walk to the base camp of the highest mountain in the world. Day 10 of your Gokyo Cho La Pass Trek will be challenging as you will be traversing Cho La Pass. Make a nontechnical ascend to the top of Cho La Pass and enjoy the enthralling view. Descend by walking on rugged terrain to the Sherpa village of Thaknak.

Trek past pristine turquoise blue Gokyo Lakes on your way to Gokyo. Moreover, hike to the famous Gokyo Ri which offers exhilarating panoramic views of towering mountains and stunning Gokyo Lakes.

EBC Trek with Gokyo and Cho La Pass Difficulty

Everest Base Camp Trek via Gokyo lakes and Cho La Pass is a moderate to difficult trek.

You will gain a maximum height of 5,550m at Kala Patthar. Your maximum walking duration is 8 hours and minimum 3 hours. On average, you will be trekking for 7 hours.

It is a challenging trek so you need to be reasonably fit. Novice, as well as experienced trekkers can do EBC Trek with Gokyo and Cho La Pass. No technical skills are required.
