Your EBC Trek and fly back Lukla by Helicopter trip begins with a thrilling flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. The landing at the narrow airstrip surrounded by high mountains and precipitous cliffs is sure to fasten your heartbeat.

Start walking from Lukla and make your down to the Dudh Koshi River valley to the settlement of Phakding, the first overnight stay of EBC Trek and fly back Lukla by Helicopter. The walk to Namche may be tough but the views are rewarding. You cross high suspension bridges and green forests of pine and rhododendron flanked by snow covered Himalayan peaks.

You get your first view of Mount Everest before you enter the settlement of Namche. Known as the Sherpa capital, you spend an extra day here acclimatizing. Explore this busy town filled with cafes, shops, internet hubs etc. Hike to the neighboring Sherpa settlements of Shyangboche, Khumjung and Kunde. Two acclimatization days (at Namche and Dingboche) has been incorporated in the itinerary making this EBC Trek safe for inexperienced as well as experienced trekkers. As no technical climbing is involved, inexperienced trekkers can also do it provided they are physically fit and used to long hours of hill-walking.

The highest elevation you will reach is 5,550 metres at Kala Patthar. Maximum time spent walking on the trail is 8 hours and minimum 3 hours. On average, you walk for 5 to 6 hours each day.
