Annapurna Circuit Short Trek is a classic trek which shows you the geographical variation of Nepal. The trek starts from the hilly region of Nepal filled with lush green forest and takes you to the dreary hills resembling Tibetan Plateaus.

On the short trek to Annapurna Circuit you will be trekking on the trail between the two highest mountains on earth Dhaulagiri and Annapurna.

Traverse the challenging but rewarding Throng La Pass situated at the height of 5,416m. Bask in the astounding views of mountains including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna Massif, Manaslu, and Tilicho Peak.

Get an insight into the mountain culture which is influenced by Tibetan culture and traditions. Moreover, you will see Buddhist prayer wheels, colorful prayer flags, Mani walls, and monasteries. Hike past the Kali Gandaki gorge to the revered temple of Muktinath which holds religious importance for both Hindus and Buddhists.

Annapurna Circuit Short Trek Route

Short Annapurna Circuit Trek starts and ends in Kathmandu. Start your Annapurna Circuit Trek from Kathmandu with a scenic drive to Jagat, the trailhead of the trek.

Trek through the forested trail with several cascading waterfalls to Dharapani. Further, a jungle walk takes you to Chame village. A jungle walk followed by a hike past long mani wall leads you to an ancient village of Upper Pisang.

Gear up for a strenuous trek with breathtaking mountain views on your way to Manang via Ngawal.

You will be acclimatizing in Manang village for a day on your Annapurna Short Circuit Trek. The landscape of Manang village resembles Tibetan plateau and is dotted with traditional houses.

On the day of acclimatization, you will be hiking to one of the high altitude lakes, Ice Lake at 4600 meters. Hike past few pastures on your way to Yak Kharka followed by a hike through rugged terrain to Phedi.

Cross one of the highest pass, Thorong La Pass 5,416m, and bask in the glory of Mount Dhaulagiri. Moreover, hike down to the holy Hindu temple of Muktinath.

Trek to the beautiful village of Jomsom via Lupra. The next day you will be taking a scenic flight to Pokhara from Jomsom.

Relax in the popular tourist destination of Nepal, Pokhara, and if you fancy check out its nightlife. On the following day, you will be driving back to Kathmandu.

Annapurna Circuit Short Trek Difficulty

Annapurna Circuit Trek 12 days is graded as moderate to difficult trek. You will attain a maximum height of 5,416m at Throng La Pass and a minimum altitude of 1,300m at Jagat.

Maximum walking hours will be 8 hours and minimum walking hours will be 3 hours approximately. On average, you will be trekking for around 6 hours.

Experienced trekkers will enjoy Annapurna Short Circuit trek. The high altitude trekking is physically demanding however, it is also suitable for a reasonably fit person who can hike for long hours. But there is no technical climbing involved.
